Season 2 Episode 9 Recap
Vinland Saga Episode 9 of Season 2 began with Thorfinn dreaming of himself in a beautiful, wide open field. His father Thors eventually arrives, but this causes the dream to turn into a nightmare, as Thorfinn helplessly watches the earth open up beneath him. He falls, but eventually catches himself on a ledge, where he meets a vision of Askelade.
The latter is explained in Vinland Saga Season 2 Episode 10 Thorfinn sees the place where all warriors end, a place where fighting never ends and there are no allies or enemies. The duo continue to talk, with Askeladd applauding Thorfinn for escaping. However, the latter refuses this because he was recently struck by a power of rage. As he says this, the other warriors try to drag Thorfinn into battle.
This prompts Askelad to jump down and fend off the warriors while telling Thorfinn to climb up and never come back. This leads to the final awakening in the present, as he and Einar are left alone by the servants. Thorfinn promises to resurrect himself as someone who never uses violence, as Ketil crushes the beef with Thorfinn and Einar by revealing that they are behind the destruction of the wheat.
What do you expect (my guess)
Vinland Saga Episode 10 of Season 2 will likely follow Thorfinn as he tries to stay on this path of new rebirth. It’s possible that fans will see a dream sequence for Thorfinn, or at least they will see how he sleeps now that after this rebirth announcement. His nightmares haunting him were a strong symbol throughout the first half of the season, making this a useful way to show his growth.
The episode will also likely see Thorfinn being forced to stay true to his declaration into conflicts with others as well. An interesting way to prove this might be if Thorfinn and Einar don’t agree on something. If executed well, it could show how close they are and how dedicated Thorfinn is to avoiding any conflict whatsoever, including verbal variety.
finally, Vinland Saga Season 2 Episode 10 will likely continue to set up Thorgil, Ketil’s eldest son, as a troubling presence on the farm. Given Thorfinn’s past, it’s possible that the two may encounter philosophical blows in a discussion between the current and retired warrior.
