Elden’s Ring: The Story of Muhg, Lord of Blood

Elden Ring The story of Muhj, Lord of BloodMohg, Lord of Blood, is an often-forgotten character when discussing the typical primary bosses within FromSoftware’s Elden ring. Many, one might say even those who have never played Elden ring Familiar with popular centers Malenia, Blade of Miquella and General Radahn. However, Mohg often takes a back seat in an argument Elden ringbest characters, which, to me, is a sadly fitting conclusion when delving into Mohgh’s traits and lore.

Please know that there will be Spoilers for Endgame content ahead.

Born curse

Muhaj was born deformed and horns sprouted from his body. And people considered it an omen: a curse was born. Omen’s horns would normally be removed, but Mog was of high birth gentry which meant he would be spared the often fatal procedure of having them removed at birth. His twin brother, Morgot, will receive similar treatment.

Moh and Morgot the cursed children are at the center of the game’s storyline Queen Marika, and her husband Godfrey, or Hoara Lux, as we learn on our journey to becoming Elden Lord. Mohj or Morgot would have inherited the title of Elden Lord had it not been for their suffering. The Omen Twins were thrown underground as their photos were deemed unnatural. Mog found himself in deep exile under the capital, Lendel. It was here that he would begin his journey to becoming a master. But not the Lord he was born to be.

After a catastrophic event known as the Meltdown; After Queen Marika destroyed the Ring of Elden, Mehdj escaped from his confinement and retrieved a fragment of the Ring and became one of its bearers. He then contacts an external deity called the “Formless Mother” in the underground city of Nokron. Hence Mohg became her subordinate in this world.

Standing in front of the formless mother, his damned blood spurted out from his body in flames. Here he will become a blood lord. The Mother would arm Mahj with a Holy Spear of the Company, used to contact the outer god and to protect his growing dynasty. Fire breaking out within Mog would grant him the powerful Blood Flame talismans, allowing Mog to use blood and fire as weapons. Here, underground, Muhaj sought to build his palace, vassals, and soon his dynasty.

helpless presumption

Mohj’s plan to defend the Age of Blood involved kidnapping his half-brother Mikaela, brother of the corrupt Malinia curse. Miquela was born an empire. Empresses have the ability to ascend to God and have been brought up from birth for this purpose. He too was born cursed and will forever remain young, but he never had a problem with this scourge. Michaela chose to renounce his divinity due to the inability of the royal healer to save his sister Malinia from the rot that was slowly destroying her.

Michaela had been eloping with Malinia to Haligtree, a place created by Michaela to reverse his and Malinia’s curses. Here Mikaela enters a cocoon to grow and be forever protected by his sister. In their first and weakest moment, Moh would travel to Halligtree and kidnap Mikaela in his cocoon, leaving Malinia to rot at the base of the tree. artist Naka_da_Slacka It gives us a nice view of this pair.

Mohj’s and Mikaela’s home, Mohjwyn’s mansion, is where the misfits discover the horrors of Mohj’s plan. Mog is hibernating with the sleeping Empyrean, fueled by his damned blood. He plans to raise Mikaela, his half-brother, to God and become his consort. Michaela was unresponsive to these attempts.

Forever an omen

As the hapless enter the palace, Mohg emerges from Mikaela in a pool of blood, his attempts to influence the sleeping empire halted. He salutes us for what he calls us. “The cradle of our dynasty!” As the fight begins, Mohg jumps up in defense of his dear Mikaela. As Mog began to weaken, he broke out in a blaze of flame and fury. Wings sprouted from his back as he soared into the sky, engulfing the arena in blood and flames. artist Vince Price The landscape is completely encapsulated in this image.

Before long, the Char struck him, ending his lifelong ambitions. In a last plea with his dying breath, Moog tells us, “I can see it as clear as day… the coming of our dynasty.” Moog is clearly drowning in pride. He believes in his plan so frantically that he does not even see that it collapsed before his eyes. A blood lord is no more than a child born of a curse, the omen that his bloodline, in this cruel and broken world, will never become a reality.

suitable breed

There is a subtle connection about Moh’s story, both in the lands between his bloodlines and in the real world. In every respect, Mohg is incredibly relevant, important, hidden, and dramatic as Malenia. Both are intrinsic private Chiefs whose stories inexplicably intersect at Mansion Mohjoin. But much like Moh’s ancestry in the Lands Between, his ancestry as a game cultural icon mimics his in-game counterpart. It occasionally receives an outlandish story or two, a piece of art or becomes a focus in the imagination of loyal fans. Unfortunately, he did not reach the climax his story deserves.
