news culture Demon Slayer knocks out anime awards, but loses out to another anime series
If he didn’t win the most coveted title, Demon Slayer pretty much shone during the 2023 Anime Awards.
Last Saturday, animation giant Crunchyroll inaugurated the Anime Awards, an event celebrating the best series and movies of 2022 and above all awarding the Anime of the Year award. This year, the big winner in this acclaimed distinction is none other than Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, which also took home the award for Best Dubbing Actor for protagonist David Martinez, Zack Aguilar tent. Moreover, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is not even an anime that streams on Crunchyroll, but it is a Netflix production. Note that it was the judges and fans who voted for the series, attesting to its blazing popularity and quietly putting it ahead of Demon Slayer, Attack on Titan, Lycoris Recoill, Ranking of Kings, and SPY X FAMILY.
At the same time, Demon Slayer was widely noticed and also left with a bunch of rewards: Best Animation, Best Direction, Best Action, Best Fantasy, Best Comedy Actor (Spain).
